MeteoIQ has become an Associate Member of the European Meteorological Society. The EMS Council accepted the application of the company and welcomes MeteoIQ.
Bert Holtslag, EMS President, is delighted: “As President of EMS I very much welcome MeteoIQ as a new Associate Member of EMS. I hope that this sets the stage for other companies in the private sector to join and work with EMS towards a forward-looking, responsive and cooperative European meteorological community that includes professionals from all sectors.”
The European Meteorological Society is a non-profit organization. It functions as a network of Meteorological Societies in Europe. With its activities it strengthens the science and application of meteorology. One of the main events organized by the association is the EMS Annual Meeting. With several hundreds of attendees it is one of the most visited meteorological conferences in Europe.
Dennis Schulze, Managing Director of MeteoIQ is excited about MeteoIQ becoming Associate Member of EMS: “The global weather enterprise can only flourish when all stakeholders – private, public and academic – have an open dialogue. The European Meteorological Society offers an excellent platform for this and we as MeteoIQ are very happy to be part of that in the future. With our verification services we want to provide the community and the users more transparency in terms of forecast accuracy of the different services.”
